  • Looking for a few great books!!

I am looking jewelry-making books on all aspects of the craft. Seed Beads, Wire Working, Pearls, General, Crystal, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? I read the reviews on Amazon but I am never too sure of those so I figured I would ask here. Thanks, Jeanne

  • Re: Knotting vs stringing pearls on wire

Hi lindydonna, The main difference between silk thread and wire is that silk is highly absorbent while wire is not. • What crimp tubes to use with what size wire?

In need of help: I have made a couple bracelets only to have them break apart. I suspect it's because I'm not using the appropriate sized crimp tubes with the corresponding wire sizes. Can someone break this down for me like I'm a 2yr old, maybe some sort of table, and save me from stringing...

Their shows are the 2nd Sunday of every month now through October. I did very well there. Another good place would be The Blue Orchid flower...

  • Re: Plated Sterling Wire or Solid

I have used Artistic Wire's Silver Non-Tarnish 20G wire with success for a lot less expense than Sterling Wire. Granted, it will scratch if handled roughly so you must use nylon tipped pliers to manipulate the wire. I've been working with Artistic Wire for about 6 months and and satisfied with...

  • Breaking Necklaces

I have been having problems with my jewelry breaking (mostly necklaces)-- the wire that I'm using is snapping in random places (it is a nylon monofilament). Can anyone suggest a specific brand that is known for its strength? I'm about to launch the web site for my company, and I don't want...
