Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll continue to use the foldover crimp tubes as this is the kind that is available locally for my students. Maybe I will try a thicker wire - 19 strand. Perhaps the thicker wire is better to use with the foldover crimps and still thin enough to use with most beads...

I am a Softflex devotee, usually 49 strands. The .014 is great for smaller, lighter beads, the .019 for average and the .024 for heavy beads. The Softtouch line has the best drape. I feel the extra money is worth it when I am using more expensive beads. Beadbiz
