  • Looking for a few great books!!

I am looking jewelry-making books on all aspects of the craft. Seed Beads, Wire Working, Pearls, General, Crystal, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? I read the reviews on Amazon but I am never too sure of those so I figured I would ask here. Thanks, Jeanne

  • Re: What crimp tubes to use with what size wire?

Hi Kiwi, I find using plain crimp tubes is a nightmare. I have made hundreds of necklaces and bracelets and I use only twisted crimp tubes in the 2x2 and 2x3 sizes. I never have a necklace fall apart with the twisted or tornado crimp tubes. A good check to make sure after you crimp jewelry is to tug...

  • Re: Least expensive supplies.

Hi, I buy my sterling silver and goldfilled findings at either Artbeads or Finedings . Both have excellent prices. Artbeads does not charge for shipping. Most of their findings have a protective coating to protect the sterling silver so the silver looks better longer.

  • Re: Swarovski Crystals?

Hi, I purchase Swarovski crystals from Artbeads. The 6mm bicone costs around 13 cents and the 4mm crystal bicone is around 6 cents, with colors a little higher. If you are buying Swarovski crystals for around the same price through Ebay you are doing well. I always use a thin stainless steel wire such...

  • Fall 2008 Jewelry

It's getting closer to Fall and I'm wondering what gemstones and glass colors will be "in" this fall. Does anyone know? Are small beads out and large beads in? What's the favorite metal color for the fall? Are chains still important? I have lots of gemstones in my gemstone box waiting...
