JiaSha Knotting

I started to work out on the new design since September, and would like to share how the design evolved. :D

This was the very first attempt, made of 24ga soft wires as a core and 28ga wires for coiling.

And then I made it into earrings, attaching all my lucky colors - yes you guessed it right, I keep all my designs when I first made them into success. :)

And then, made the design into silver - I am sure the owner loved the white JiaSha.

Then bookmark (and later the owner sent me a picture of how she was using it, so please excuse me for the non-standardized image size - she wasn't using wide angle's lens.):

Finally moved on finalizing the measurement for JiaSha Pendant project. Still with 24ga and 28ga soft wires, and an Amethyst briolette.

Of course, later, a pair of matching earrings, they are in same size with the pendant...

And a pair of it with garnets:

Then recently tried leaving the JiaSha knot unclosed, and make it go with a huge Smooth Amethyst stone.

and now...

I am still exploring what can I do with JiaSha knotting. I do have an idea now with it's action plan, I will update this post again once I got it worked out. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed reading this post!

New Crafting Blog

I started a blog a few weeks ago. I added some new entries tonight. I have a few more I want to add soon. I am blogging about my work and what I offer. I also am going to blog about interesting stuff besides jewelry. I also blog about other artists work. I am currently looking for artists to feature on my blog. Where have you sold your jewelry?

For me it was at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton. This is great for anyone who has their own art to sell and doesn’t want to pay a big booth fee. Their shows are the 2nd Sunday of every month now through October. I did very well there. Another good place would be The Blue Orchid flower shop in Orange. Their booth fee there is 45 dollars and their shows are the first Saturday of every month. I tried the swap meet, but didn’t do well. I'd love to hear where you sold and what kind of luck you had.

Round gemstone beads make "cherry" pendants

I was inspired by a project featured in Pinn Beads and made these gemstone pendants. I used dyed suede flat cords to match or compliment the colors of the gemstones. I made several variations - red corrals, blue turquoise, rose quartz, fire agate, amethyst, pearls, etc. - and they came out to be great accessories for tees or casual shirts. They're fun and easy to make. Hope you like them too :-)

length of necklace to wear toggle in front

I made some necklaces so that the toggle is to be worn in the front. I added a pendant to the toggle or some charms. The necklaces are short-perhaps 18 inches long. I feel that the necklaces are too short for a front toggle. What's the right length for a front toggle?

Wedding Gift - PIPA Pendant, Wired Chinese Knot

Hi All, I've been researching on how to integrate Chinese Knot with Wire Jewelry and PIPA Earrings were my first official pair of Wired Chinese Knot work. PIPA is an instrument and this knot was named after it's shape.

I have made quite a few of jewelry pieces out from this technique but in this thread, I am presenting my most recent piece that I've created for my friend's wedding. :) She came to me with pearl necklace she bought off a store, and we both agreed it was too plain and "empty", so I created this pendant for her.
