About Elizabeth Karmolinski

I have designed and created jewelry for over 35 years. I have used practically every medium and technique available at least once......My grandmother always told me, "Seek out and learn everything you can about everything you can as you will eventually need or use it!" Actually pertains to pretty much everything in life but definately applies to jewelry making! I enjoy every aspect of beading but I love creating with wire the most. I create jewelry as gifts for friends and family. I donate finished pieces to local schools and organizations to use as appreciation gifts or as prizes for fundraisers and charity events. 5 years ago I started actually selling my creations on eBay and a few other places and have now shipped to clients on every continent!! I don't sell enough to actually make a living but knowing that pieces that I created are being worn around the world is an incredible feeling, one which I am sure the majority of you are more familiar with than I am. Someday!! I also design and create original one-of-a-kind silk floral bouquets and arrangements for weddings and events as well as for home and office decor. I design and create original fashions using my own original pattern designs and/or purchased patterns, which I combine the sections I each pattern design I like, ie: the bodice from one pattern, the waistline from another and the skirt from another or the neckline and sleeves from one with the body or hemline of another, etc. 2 Summers ago a friend of mine got married. She purchased 2 beautiful wedding gowns from the local Goodwill store, one a size 6 and one a size 10. She actually wore a size 16!! She fell in love with the bodice from one gown and the skirt and train from the other. She could not decide which she wanted most so she bought both and planned to put herself on a strict diet and the one she fit into on the big day would be the one she would wear. Well, 4 weeks before the wedding and she actually had put on 5 lbs so I suggested she let me alter and combine the two gowns into one! I have to say it turned out spectacular and fit her perfectly! I took both gowns entirely apart at the seams, I added panel sections to the bodice side seams to expand the bodice using fabric from the skirt of the bodice. I removed all the buttons, beadwork and lace from the bodice of the skirt gown and transfered to the bodice of the other. To expand the waistline of the skirt and to match the expanded bodice, I added the the side sections from the bodice skirt to the skirt side seams. I designed a crochet pattern for an open mesh
