    studio

    Hi all,

My husband has finally agreed to redo our garage and turn it into a studio for me, I just was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on what should be put in or not to put in a good studio. keeping in mind that I will be working and selling out of my garage, I would love to hear your ideas.

Sorry, don't have much suggestions, I do my jewelry at the livingroom table! But I am soooo jealous and really hope the garage-store-beadroom works out!!! Good luck!

Shelving.  Lots and lots of adjustable shelves that can change with your inventory.  Also try attaching keyboard trays under your work surfaces so projects can slide out of the way but still be accessible.

Look at kitchen displays in home-improvement stores for ideas on customizing your space - some of the cabinets are pretty inexpensive and can be "upgraded" with things like slide-out drawers and tip-outs.

How nice to have all that space!  You're going to have a ton of fun getting everything the way you want it!

Thank you for all your suggesions we started the renivations and wow what can I say other than it can be a little overwelming but I do still have high hopes that it will be worth it in the end.

permits are a good thing to get and call your insurance company to find out if this will change your rates or to 1) get enough coverage to cover your work and 2) have a policy in case someone slips and injures themself.
