    Problems with front toggle

I'm trying out a simple chain necklace with a front toggle and a pendant hanging on the ring part of the toggle.  I wore it yesterday to try it out, and 3 times the toggle came unclasped.  Not good, if you're making jewelry to sell.  Any ideas as to why the toggle would come unclasped?  Maybe the chain needs to be a heavier style?  The chain is only about a 1.5mm rolo chain.  Beautiful, but fairly light-weight.

Usually it's the weight that is off when that occurs. It may be the weight of the chain or the pendant.

I have had the same thing happen. It was the pendant not putting enough drag on the clasp to keep it closed. I have also had toggles that the ring portion was too large for the bar....creating the same problem.

Thanks for the tip.  Maybe I'll add some weight and wear it around to see if it makes a difference.  Bummer if the ring portion is too big since that's the way it came when I bought it.

Heavier bottom usually helps, for that will hold it down.

Not to heavy for it will make your necklace looks just like a chain to your neck.

    Hope this help.
