Hi Everyone!
I've been a beader for most of my life, and in the last year I've been putting a lot of effort into compiling all of my favorite techniques into a website of tutorials for beaders called The Sage's Encyclopedia. I have a strict rule that I only write tutorials when I've been using a technique for a project. That way all of the steps are fresh in my mind, and I don't leave anything out. Most of the tutorials are for bead weaving, but I also have some tips on memory wire, stretch cord and other beading essentials.
One thing that's missing is stringing! I've never attempted it, because there aren't any actual bead stores in my area. I get most of my supplies from hobby shops that sell beads because they're a given in craft stores - not because they know what to do with them. I don't have access to really good stringing materials.
I want to teach myself crimping and stringing, but I first need to get my hands on the tools I need. I'm appealing to the experts here on BeadStyle to point me in the right direction. I would love to just buy up a bunch of supplies and see what works, but I'd like to stick to a reasonable budget.
I'm hoping that a few beaders who shop frequently online would be interested in posting or messaging a few links for me. I'd like to check out the product pages for your favorite crimping pliers, crimp tubes and beading wire - from a site like FMG or Rings & Things, whoever you think is best. I realize it's a bit of work to find the products and link them, so I really appreciate any help! Once I know what to buy, I can finally learn this technique for myself.
Thanks so much in advance!
