Hi! I live in central florida. I'm almost 15 and a freshman in high school. I love beading, i've been doing it(in some form or fashion)for as long as i can remember. I have type 1 diabetes and i make my own med. alert bracelets. i also do most of the 'standard' pieces, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc. but i also make christmas ornament with clear glass balls and seed beads. i'm really glad i found y'all!

    Hi Ladybug,

Welcome!  I have Diabetes, also.  I would love to see your bracelets.  That's a great idea.  The ones for sale commercially are just ugly.  You sound like a really fun person.  Also, a very creative person.

I'm in the same boat as you.  I told my husband that I want to pick up an inexpensive digital camera so I can start taking pictures of my jewelry and start showing it to everyone.  Besides, I want to start a scrapbook of my work so I will remember how and when I made each piece.  I want to see my progression since I am very new to this.  It's too much fun, though, and I KNOW that I have caught the fever.

    Hi Ladybug,

I have Type 2 Diabetes.  I was diagnosed about 10 years ago in my mid 30's.  Yes, I know, I'm old.   I am on Insulin, Byetta (injected), and two kinds of oral meds.  It is not fun.  My jewelry making relieves my stress, makes me very happy, and keeps me from overeating (always a struggle).  Hey, I was looking at a travel magazine yesterday and I saw this article on buying cameras on the flickr.com/cameras website.  It will " help you pick out a new camera by showing pix taken with various models.  Images are organized by category-macro, night, etc.-and there are technical specs, price comparisons, and user reviews."  I'm going to look at this because I want to get a decent camera for filming my jewelry but I don't want to spend a lot of money.

    Take care, Laura Z.
