    Home Jewelry Parties

Hi!!  After searching the forum for a Jewelry Party thread I didn't find a whole lot (also searched over on Bead & Button and posted there).  After the coming holidays I'm planning to start doing home jewelry parties.  I've never done one before.  Like most folks, I've had Pampered Chef parties and have been to Stampin' Up! and Faux Designer Label purse parties, but jewelry parties would be a different thing altogether.

I'd love to hear your advice on what to make sure to do, what to make sure to avoid - all that kind of helpful info.  My first party I'll have at my home, so I plan to make my killer salsa and have a veggie/cheese tray for appetizers and serve soda, beer and wine.  I know MY wallet opens LOTS easier with a little lubrication.

I plan to do paper invites AND evites.  What do you offer as incentives to your hostesses, guests and future party bookings?

     Thanks!!!!

    Re: Home Jewelry Parties

I have had great success in the past with jewellery parties.  I usually serve  wine and cheese. I make sure I have a friend to write out the purchase bills and usually mill around the room talking to the various guests.  In my invitation I also mention that if my invited guest brings a friend they will receive a free piece of jewellery which is usually a small pair of earrings. I usually do a party in the Spring and one in November just in time for Christmas Shopping.  I make sure all my purchases have a nice little gift box.  My parties have become so successful that I now have people stopping me on the street asking me to make sure I invite them to my next party again.  I think the secret is for everyone to have a good time.  I display my jewellery on the dining room table, with good lighting and mirrors.  Make sure you invite at least 3 X the people you expect to come.  Hope you party is a success!

Thanks for all of your advice.  No matter how many resources I consult, there always seems to be one small touch or nice little thing that you all do differently.

I can't wait to get started.

    Re: Home Jewelry Parties

I just did one at my house 2 weeks ago and I did great. I just put out some snack and drink and the jewels. Had people just come over and check it out. I make it very simple and it seems to work. I do one every 4 months at my house. With craft fair season about get going here I will be busy. I've already signed up for 3 and one more to go. I usually do about 4 during the holiday season and I'll have one around the holidays at my house. I've even just put my stuff out with a table in front of the house. Put up signs around the neighborhood and I had one customer and she bought $65 worth of jewelry. Now she is my customer! I'm also a consultant for Mary Kay and so I've used some of the skills I've used learned from doing that and it works! I hope that helps! :o)
