    Jewelry Finding trade shows

I am trying to find some good findings for my jewelry, I make jewelry mostly out of leather and am having truble finding  findings that meet my needs. I am sick of buying stuff then two weeks later having to return it because it  doese not fit my products. So i guess I am looking to see if there is a trade show out there that specializes in findings. Any one have any ideas.

    Thanks

     Welcome to our forums, Shelly!

There is a finding show put on by the Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths of America (MJSA). It's listed at their website http://www.mjsa.org/. Leather findings, however, may not be the sort that you'd find at MJSA Expo. There might be other shows that would target leather, shoes, saddelry and related goods.

On the other hand, I know we at Rings & Things sell to a lot of leather workers but it might be mainly our barette and pin back findings that they attach their products to rather than components used in the making of leather items.

Yes! thanks that helps however it seems that there shows are more for High-end jewelry Designers (people working with Platinum and Gold and such) I guess I could check it out and see what they have to offer.

On another note I did call my leather supplier (leather cord USA) to see if they had any ideas where to look but so far no luck they only supply leather

If any one has any other ideas where to look let me know.

    Thanks

I'm sure you have already looked at what we have at Rings & Things and probably at Leather Factory / Tandy? Some of the southwestern suppliers have things that work with bolo and belt styles that are popular there. (Rio, Indian Jeweler's Supply, Thunderbird Supply, Sante Fe Jeweler's Supply)

I used to get western design findings from a place in NYC that serviced the fashion Industry. They had a number of parts for leather outfits, bags and purses. The name was Eslin, Eselin, Eslinger or some thing similar. A quick search in Manhattan yellow pages did not find them but perhaps they have moved out of the CIty.

What particular items do you need?

Contact MJSA with a description of your needs and ask which MJSA members would have what you need.
