    Trendy Y

Recently, I noticed here in London, lots of ladies wearing Y necklaces. So I decided to 'investigate' 1 very wet saturday. I went to our the shopping (known as the West End) haven. Going from shop (including clothing) to shop, I discovered they all had Y necklaces on sale.

It took me all day but it was worth it.I have since then incorporated Y necklaces into my designs as I plan to go commercialise with my designs soon. In fact I made one for myself which I wore to church this morning and got good compliments.

Is this latest trend in the Statesas well or is it just a London thing?

     Dear Beadidani,

I've only been seriously beading for @ 2 years.  The Y shaped necklace is one of those standard necklace shapes that's been around for a while, from what I've seen.

However, when I was in L.A., I noticed that BIG beads seem to be the hot new thing (whether the beads are just strung in a "regular" 18 inch necklace shape or in the Y shape.

Yes Big beads are 'in' here 2, it used to be associated with 'the posh older women' not anymore . I noticed they are mostly knotted, some single or multi coloured beads, I prefer the latter.

I've almost gotten myself in trouble staring at women's necklaces, looking at the detail & the finish. Being a typical Brit, I don't have the nerve to say 'I was only admiring yr necklace', maybe I should do that before someone tells me off!!!

    Thanks 4 the info.

That's funny!!  Same thing here...whether the person is on television or I see them in person, I've become much more focused on necklaces, bracelets and earrings!
