Saw some beads at a bead show this past weekend...

I know, I know, this isn't much to go on.  I saw some beads at the bead show, admired them, walked away, and of course have been thinking about them ever since.  They looked like natural beads, but were a color combo I've not seen before in anything natural: teal blue, off white and brown.  Each bead looked like a roundish slice -- don't you like my technical terminology?    Any ideas at all as to what I may have seen?  And then, where I'd find it again?

I may be oversimplifying your description, but could it be Impression Jasper?

This sounds very similar to something I picked up at an LBS lately.  Being a rock hound, I pride myself on knowing ALOT of the semi precious stuff at first glance.  But this one has me stumped, too.  I couldn't resist - but it bugs me that I don't know what it is.    I'll be watching the replies to this blog to see who can help.  I'm wondering if it's a heat treated or "enhanced" version of something, or as was stated - a form of Jasper (there seem to be millions).
You may want to try asking this question on the Bead & Button forum too - there a few people there that are knowledgeable regarding stones (Russ/Rings&Things).  Although - a photo would be better!
Good luck.  Here's hoping we have an ID soon!

Could it be rainbow calsilica? Here is a link to google images.

Rainbow Calsilicia is a made made stone, not a new stone out of Mexico as a lot of folks state. It sure is pretty though.

Please post a photo. If you host a picture at one of the free photo hosting sites (flickr, picasaweb, etc) you can post it here by imbedding in in a pair of [ img] [ /img] codes. See the forum FAQs for more info on posting pictures.

It's hard enough to ID a stone from a photo on line. It's next to impossible to give any accurate info based on a description.  You can try scanning my site or Earthstones or FMG and browse through the pictures in hopes you find something like it. You can browse my free on line Gem Index at http://www.rings-things.com/gemstone/index.html looking for a match. But easiest of all is to get a picture posted here for us to ID as best we can.

Go to www.happymangobeads.com and in the search area type in the color. It will bring up any items that they have matching the color description. It a pretty cool search feature!

    Hope this helps!
