I do a lot of stuff for men but unfortunately I don't have any pics handy on my pc, but I actually find it easier to design for men because simplicity seems to be the key.
Simple single strand patterns using hematite, dark stones, wood, and bone are big. Nothing really faceted but rather, squares, retangular, nuggets, unfaceted rondelles and some rounds. Also simple pendants, crosses, arrow heads or symbols are popular with my male clientele.
Men also tend to like shorter lengths that fit close on the neck, except that some men like slightly chunkier necklaces made of all wood in longer lengths.
Heavy guage chain maille in longer lengths (18" and longer) is also popular with the men who like to wear SS chains. Byzantine sells well but I explain up front that it can be pretty pricey because of the time involved. I make those custom order because the men who've wanted a byz chain have wanted 18 and 16 g. in rather long lengths. One guy even wanted one in 16g-28" to hang a pendant that memorialized his mother. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but he was right, it was pretty stunning when it was done. And he was big and tall enough to pull it off.
