    Forum Challenge #12

    Theme: Cool Waters

How to Enter: Between now and July 31st create a piece of wearable art with your interpretation of the theme Cool Waters. Please note that this piece MUST be created during this time period, so please do not submit older work. ALL forms of wearable art that fall under jewelry or jewelry related will be accepted. Bead stringing, bead weaving, wire work, PMC, stamping, polyclay, smithing, are just a few of the forms that would be acceptable. To view old challenges please click here.

Who Can Enter: Anyone who is a member of this forum. (Members of Bead&Button and ArtJewelry forums are also welcome to participate.)

Important Information : Once your piece is completed, use a digital camera to take a photo. A plain background, which allows your piece to take center stage is highly reccomended. Please send one photo with a resolution of 72 DPI and a size of 452 pixels in JPEG format.

Please submit photos to cammy@bejigged.com, along with a brief description of materials and techniques used, and any inspiration you wish to share.

Voting will occur once all photos and descriptions have been placed on the BeadStyle Web site. Voting will remain open for two weeks. A winner will then be announced, and the prize awarded.

Please use this thread to discuss the challenge, any questions you might have, or any inspiration and ideas you wish to share. ALL submissions are winners in their own rights. Remember that for some, simply adhering to a timeline or theme is their biggest challenge. For some they might have a fear of not being worthy... I say PHOEY! :^) We welcome all styles AND all skill levels into this challenge. I look forward to the following discussions, and to seeing everyones work.

Many thanks to Kalmbach publishing, and to Lindsay Headt for all their help and support.

Ahhhh....I thought I had lost this....

Thanks for pointing me back.  I actually have a submission that was inspired by a recent trip to Northern Wisconsin.  The lake I was on was crystal clear!!  I love looking at the colors of the rocks under the water and when I got home I found some stones that reminded me of the colors.

Now to get the picture sent in....  :-)

    Hi Jimena,

The forum challenges don't really have a regular schedule. We hold them when it seems like there is enough interest to have a reasonable number of participants. If you're interested in participating in the future, just keep an eye on the Forum Challenge thread, which will always be located in the Show Us Your Work forum. I make it "sticky" so that it's always at the top of the list.

I am just getting to looking at all of the wonderful pieces on the challenge!!  What a beautiful grouping of work!  I can't really vote for only one can I?  Whew.  I'll have to think about this one.  This must be how it feels at BeadStyle every month trying to decide what to publish!!

How long until the voting closes?

    Great work everyone!!

I think we originally said voting would be open for two weeks, which means it would close tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side, I'll close it down Thursday morning.
