Has anyone found a good free web host?

After disentangling myself from a sticky situation I am looking to build a new website but I'd prefer not to invest a lot of money.  Any ideas out there?

I use Frewebs however I was informed yesterday Yahoo has one that is fairly decent. When You use Freewebs you have to use one of their templates, but it is fairly easy to set up a site.
The only thing I don't like about Freewebs is that they post ads for other jewelry companies and block buster through out your site. You can upgrade to the basic and get rid of the ads for $50/yr.

I use startlogic.com and really like it for what it is. They have templates that you can use as well as shopping carts and paypal extensions. I only pay $6.50 a month for my website. For a fee, you can also pay them to build a custom site for you as well. I just used Microsoft Publisher and custom built my own site.

Thanks for the tips.  I'll check them out.  Startlogic sounds good.  I've been working on this all day and finally found one that looked good only to learn it's not good for e-commerce.  Go figure.  Have either of you had any experience with blogging?

I have been using doteasy.com for several years for various websites. For the basic plan you pay for your web address (right now it's $25 per year or $35 per year if you already have your web name and want to transfer it to doteasy.com. It includes $0 hosting for one year with no ads placed on your page. It doesn't have a shopping cart or database capability. That's o.k. because with PayPal you can add a PayPal shopping cart and let PayPal handle the credit card purchases. The buyer doesn't have to be a member of PayPal to pay by credit card.

You can purchase a shopping cart hosting plan that costs $7.95 a month. They also have another one at a slightly higher monthly charge.

The $0 hosting plan works out well for me, especially using PayPal for the shopping cart.

I forgot to tell you freewebs also has PayPal and shopping cart capabilities.

One of my friends has turned her myspace account into another website. You can attach paypal. There was a member of the old forum that used myspace as well.

I haven't blogged my jewelry and I don't know if I am going that route. I think a website and a blog on top of my school blog and email will be too time consuming.

Most free hosting companies are more trouble then they are worth.  You spend lots of time without good results.  I went the cheap route and it was a headache.  I decided to spend a little and ended up with my site  http://www.wearmejewels.com through Webstornow.com and am very happy.  I've had my site through them for over a year and have found it very easy to use.

They offer a lot of features:

500 webpages, 500 pictures, 500 products, 5 email accounts, strong shopping cart software, marketing tools, 1500+ customizable designs, paypal integration, easy text editor, photo galleries, etc... for only $24.95 per month.
They have a free 10 day trial if you want to check it out.

    Hope this helps.

     Try http://www.ecrater.com

It is free and easy to use. No popups or banners either! I don't personally use it but know others that do.
