Colors for the Fall 2007 Season

I have been looking on the internet to find what will be the important colors for this fall. I've also taken a look at our latest department store brochure that was recently sent to me. Black seems to be very important. Gray and Dirty White and some Red seem to be the secondary colors to be worn with black. What I found interesting though was "Montana"  was seen in both men's and women's clothing in the fashion brochure. As the Swarovski crystal color it seems a little drab, but in fabric it's a knockout. I'm going to have to take another look at Montana.

One of the websites mentioned Mustard as a hot color for the fall. How about Mustard and Montana together.

Just some thoughts about what colors to put together for fall jewelry.

    Hi Carole,

I live in Australia and we tend to have an early adoption of seasonal trends because our seasons are opposite to the N. Hemisphere.  We are in mid-winter now, and the predominate colours are black, white, chocolate brown, deep red, and deep purple.  You also see a lot of the copper family and gold.  For my winter line, I used copper and silver combinations, amythest, champagne topaz, and dark pink tourmaline.  I sold out of it before i had a chance to post my photos on my web site! Good luck for the fall season!

Yes, copper and silver sounds great. I'm tired of just using one metal color in my pieces. I think I will mix them up. Deep purple as well as the other colors you mentioned were also mentioned in the articles I read. Thanks for your info.

    • Thanks for the forecast. I noticed Montana as one of the colors in the clothing. Mary Janes are so comfortable to wear. I'll be on the lookout for them.

Here in Massachusetts the Fall Clothing is already out in the stores.  Today I went shopping and found alot of shade of deep blue and teal, mixed with different shades of yellow and green.  Also on the racks are many bright colors:  red, lime green for Fall, hot pink, turquoise, purple.  Oh, and as always, Animal Prints!!!!!  Instead of Black with red accents, I saw Red with black accents.  I really didn't notice much change in the jewelry though.  I think anything goes!

www.pantone.com always has interesting color forcasts.  They make all of the dyes for fabric that is used in clothing and furniture and most everything that uses dye.  They have a pretty good forcast as they have to be ready to make the dye for the dresses people will be wearing next summer!

Thanks, to know about color Black and Chocolate Brown being in demand. Will have to focus on creating more jewelry in this color.

    Thank your for sharing Carol

Accents such as Cashmere Rose (soft medium rose) or Stargazer (deep turquoise) become the perfect complements to most fall colors.  If you want to know more about Fall 2007 Season

I didn't think about checking out the pantone site. Apparently the info I got from other sites was based on the pantone site. I think their pdf file on the fall 2007 is great. I must not see color as some others see it because Stargazer looks like Montana to me rather than a dark turquoise. I really need to start designing jewelry with all these lovely colors.

This last trip I focused on buying colored stones that would go with the clothes forecast.

I focused on raw Emeralds, Canadian Jades, Tourmalines, dark Carnelians and anything in the brown tones especially pearl coins and brio's.
