    Re: jump rings?

I guess you are talking about Chain Maille Bracelets, Chain maille is not new. It was formerly known simply as "mail", and was the armor that people used to make for combat. This mail/armor was created out of the little round jump rings that we use today to make our jewelry. It is one of the most fun and most colorful methods to make jewelry and other decorative pieces.

The Ring Lord (ringlord.com) and the Rings & Things example jewelry gallery have patterns for chain maille style earrings.

    See http://www.rings-things.com/gallery/displayimage-topn-0-0.html for one example.
