    Critique my new web store

Hello fellow bead lovers! My family (4 generations) and I are having a "soft" grand opening of our new online jewelry store and I'd love to invite you to stop by. What I'm looking for is your honest feedback. Need fresh eyes to critique our marketing, site function and anything else that pops up!

    Visit us at RoseofSharonJewelry.com.

We are still working on our photo quality so suggestions are urgently welcome on that topic. I'm going blind reading and shooting new shots but still am not happy with the results.

Thanks for all your support and feedback.

    Hi Sharon,

Your site looks very professional. I really loved the title "Confident Women Wear Bracelets" that is fabulous! I think the only criticism would be that I didn't care for the big "free shipping" tag over the silver bead. It looks too commercial. And how about one of your own lovely creations on the front instead of a bali bead? You want people to see the quality of your work first...big and bold.

Your work is wonderful....show it off!

Re: Critique my new web store

    Hi:

I love your website.  It easy to use and the size of the pics is great!  Shows the detail.

I just want to know...do you get those prices?  I use the semi-precious stones, Swarovski and Czech crystals, pearls, sterling, etc. but am so afraid to charge like that.  I do a lot of business where I work and for friends and even set up at my nail salon.  People love my stuff and often comment that they would have paid more but I'm just so afraid the products will sit if I raise my prices.  I make it to selll it - not to sit.  Please give me YOUR input.  I'd also like to create a website.  Do you do a lot of business on your website?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hi BevO,

Do you mean my finished pieces? Yes. We can get $180-$250 per bracelet and necklace...but they are big and impressive. I also sell allot of smaller bracelets in the $90 range...and earrings for $26-45. So, I have a full range of prices to offer.   I have found that the larger more expensive pieces sell  better then the lower priced work. Why? hmmm....maybe its because the women with money still have that money to spend, and don't think much of spending it. If they went to a gallery, or even a fancy shop they'd spend allot more, so those prices are cheap! It just depends on where you are selling I think. I sell at juried ARt Festivals around the country, so the public that sees my work are already in the frame of mind that they are seeing quality, one of a kind original work.

Now if I showed my work at the flea market or a little craft show. .I'd do very badly I'm sure...It depends on the venue! Of course it also depends on having good original work, competition is tough out there!

Prices: I know exactly what you mean. I hate to have any pieces are too long. I'd rather sell quickly and keep working. Just keep in mind your materials and time and you will be fine.

Web sales have slowed a bit, but I still do very well...and have actually seen an increase in viewers lately. Get a website...they are pretty reasonable and easy to maintain. As usual, I will reccommend what I use, Artisans Accomplice.com  but there are tons of artisan co-ops out there that you could use. When you are ready with your website, contact me again and I will help you out getting potential customers to the site. If they can't find you...you can't make any moola!

I think your site looks perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. I was very impressed! I was also impressed with your work. You make beautiful pieces!

I'm sure I'll want to set up a website at some point once I get enough inventory, so how do you get traffic to your site?

I'm still really new to jewelry making, but I always wear my own pieces to work and have already gotten several requests from coworkers and even perfect strangers who see my work and comment on it. There is a big crafts fair happening at work in October, so I'm currently working toward building up inventory for that. I'm hoping that once I actually show my work publically and get my name out there, more people will start buying from me. I'd like to have a website set up before October so that I can put the address on my business cards and allow people to order more from me after the fair is over.

I shop online A LOT & I LOVE your site!!! I LOVE the wish list!! So many times I see things online that I want to purchase & need to wait a little 1st. I always get frustrated when I can't create a wish list or with sites that don't offer a savable cart.

I LOVE that your newest creations pop up on the side as you shop different items! I thought your pictures were very professional. Some could have been a little larger once you click to enlarge. :)

Very well done!!!! I'd shop there & bookmark it! Oh, I Loved the Sea Turtle necklace! Exquisite!! Did I mention that I really liked the personal touch to the descriptions!

I think you'll have lots of success with it!

    Trish,

Yes thats right, I don't know why you are having problems finding it.

    http://www.artisansaccomplice.com

If not, try going to my website  http://www.doodletart.com and then on the opening page scroll to the very very bottom. In tiny tiny words are my log-in info, and the artisans link. Click on Artisans link from there and you should find it!

I think once you find it, you will find that it is indeed a great way to show and sell your work...not to mention cheap!
