Hi BevO,
Do you mean my finished pieces? Yes. We can get $180-$250 per bracelet and necklace...but they are big and impressive. I also sell allot of smaller bracelets in the $90 range...and earrings for $26-45. So, I have a full range of prices to offer. I have found that the larger more expensive pieces sell better then the lower priced work. Why? hmmm....maybe its because the women with money still have that money to spend, and don't think much of spending it. If they went to a gallery, or even a fancy shop they'd spend allot more, so those prices are cheap! It just depends on where you are selling I think. I sell at juried ARt Festivals around the country, so the public that sees my work are already in the frame of mind that they are seeing quality, one of a kind original work.
Now if I showed my work at the flea market or a little craft show. .I'd do very badly I'm sure...It depends on the venue! Of course it also depends on having good original work, competition is tough out there!
Prices: I know exactly what you mean. I hate to have any pieces are too long. I'd rather sell quickly and keep working. Just keep in mind your materials and time and you will be fine.
Web sales have slowed a bit, but I still do very well...and have actually seen an increase in viewers lately. Get a website...they are pretty reasonable and easy to maintain. As usual, I will reccommend what I use, Artisans Accomplice.com but there are tons of artisan co-ops out there that you could use. When you are ready with your website, contact me again and I will help you out getting potential customers to the site. If they can't find you...you can't make any moola!
