    craft fair- Maybe?

I've been beading for several years off & on, just recently on a lot. I think I have a lot of items and am thinking of selling at our local craft fair the weekend before Thanksgiving. It's $90 for an 8' x 10' space, which I can swing. Trouble is I don't know if I really do have enough items and if I should have more than 1 of the pieces I do have. Any words of wisdom out there?

Go for it! I wouldn't have multiples per piece but rather have many unique pieces. Customers really like the idea that they are getting a one-of-a -kind creation. You can always decide it you want to take orders if someone asks for multiples of a particular item.

Thanks so much Auntieal for the reply. I do have copies of a few things, mainly of the stuff that I want to keep. I've taken pictures of everything so I could maybe take a request or commissions.

I agree, go for it!  If you make your display appealing and different than everyone elses, it won't matter that you don't have a ton of jewelry.  Actually, it might be good not to have an over abundance of pieces so the customer is not overwhelmed.  Go ahead--it'll be fun!  Alice

I like having unique pieces and RARELY make two similar items. Maybe if I want to keep one!

We just did a show and I had 56 items of beaded jewelry. Plus we had a small covered glass case and a bowl with vintage silver items, etc. I hadn't done a show for over a year, so I did a 'practice' set up on my dining room table. You might be able to do the same? If it looks too empty, you can either make some more items, or elaborate a little on the display to take up some more room.

Have fun with it and good sales to you!

I took the plunge; went in Mon. with all my stuff and showed it to the Arts Council people and they said that my stuff should really sell. I just needed to have more of it. I am now trying to make as much as I can between now and then. I only have a Hobby Lobby and a WalMart in town so most of my material comes from out of town, its either feast or famine at my house re: material. Right now its famine, lets hear it for expediated shipping!

Thanks for the support, any suggestions on pricing?
