I just watched Anna Draeger's Learn to make three easy crystal bracelets video that's part of our new Jewelry Classes on Demand series. Anna, an associate editor at Bead&Button magazine, is also a Create Your Style Ambassador for CRYSTALLIZED™- Swarovski Elements — so she's got a great eye for color and technique.
In her Crossover Cuff project, Anna shows how to make a bracelet with 4 mm bicone crystals. The cuff looks challenging but really isn't: she gives straightforward instructions on how to pick up different strands and crimp them to create the crossover effect. She also shows how to make a crystal watchband and a crystal bracelet with a cone finishing. Throughout the video, she mentions tips (for example, pull beading wire gently to avoid curling it) as well as techniques (ingeniously hide crimps with spacers).
I felt like I could make all three of the crystal bracelets by just watching the video, but there's also a PDF that provides detailed instructions and step-by-step photos.
Speaking of bracelets, I feel like it's Bracelet Week here at BeadStyle. We're sans assistant until next Wednesday, so we're handling reader inquiries about our new special issue, 52 Bracelets.
If you're a bracelet-a-week kind of beader (or you just like quick and
easy projects), check out the issue on newsstands or preview a copy here.
