I have mixed feelings about resolutions: I'm all for announcing intentions and turning them into reality, but I'm not a fan of waiting until the end of December to set goals. I do like the idea of making myself accountable to the universe, though — or, at least, to BeadStyle readers, friends, and readers of my personal blog.
2008 was a year of some fun jewelry-related things: making 35 pairs of heart-bead earrings for a bachelor auction, collaborating with my friend Tom to design jewelry for his fiancée, getting a design accepted at the Beading Bead-a-Day calendar, seeing my briolette necklace on the cover of the January issue, and enjoying good reviews of Cool Jewels on Amazon and on craft blogs.
Non-jewelry-related: I got a mischievous new dog (after I had to say goodbye to the crazy old one) and saw my first byline in a tennis magazine.
It was a good year, filled with fun and heartbreak and minor tragedy and not-so-minor triumph. Like most years, really.
My question is, what should I plan on for 2009? And what are you planning, jewelry-wise or in general? If you're bold enough, leave a comment for us and check in next year (or before!) to let us know your progress.
Happy 2009!
