Craft fair tips

Summer is here, so craft fairs are cropping up everywhere. If you’re planning to sell your beautiful handmade jewelry at a fair, etsy.com has some great tips for making your booth visible, inviting, and efficient. Take a look at the pictures of booths that have these qualities in abundance, and ask yourself, “Would I want to go into that booth? Why or why not? What does that mean for my booth?”

Does anybody else have tips for selling jewelry at craft fairs?

I would add:  take credit cards (I use ProPay), have nicely themed table coverings, don't over crowd the items.  And most important, engage each customer with a friendly smile and a kind word.  Customers like to feel special, even if they're rummaging through the bargain bin.

Provide a snack like candy for visitors. There is nothing more inviting than food. Also, it's fun to work on your craft or artwork at your booth and talk with people about your creative process. Whether you make a sale or not, it's a venue to engage people and learn.
