Back from Italy!

Well, the jet jag has mostly worn off, I’ve unpacked, and now it’s back to business at BeadStyle! But that doesn’t mean I can’t brag a bit about my trip…

Obviously, I’ve never seen so much beautiful Murano glass! While in Venice, I bought a necklace with a blue Murano glass pendant showing veins of gold leaf. Kudos to the shop owner, who makes all the jewelry, for helping me pick out the pendant shape that best suited my face. Then, in Verona, I bought several Murano glass plates and picture frames as gifts. For myself, I bought a plate depicting a tree bearing inset Murano beads. Kudos again to the shop owners – they gave me a free pendant for my patronage.

Also, here’s a shot of me with some fabulous amber. The picture was taken by none other than Bead&Button Editor Ann Dee Allen, who was also on the trip.

Glad you had a good time.  We just moved here in March, and I'm trying to figure out where to go for beads at non-tourist prices.  I found a place in Conegliano that has their own glass factory on site, and they are going to give me a glass bead making demo on Thursday, plus let me buy a few of their beads (mostly they make production jewelry).

    I'm very excited.
