I recently finished some bridesmaids' necklaces (plus matching earrings) for my friend Becca who's getting married at the end of the month. I adapted the design from the necklace created by former BDS staffer, Paulette Biedenbender, a couple of years ago.
It's always a bit of extra pressure when you're making something for somebody else, but I'm happy to say Becca loved them. I shouldn't have been worried — not because I'm such an ace jewelry maker — but because Becca is the most easygoing bride ever. I'm finishing a necklace for the bride herself this weekend and I can't wait to give it to her.
I've heard a number of Bridezilla stories from other designers so I'm very careful about venturing into the bridal arena, but when it works out, like it did this time, it's a nice feeling to be able to contribute to somebody's special day. Do you have a Bridezilla story to share? You can change the names to protect the cranky.
