Over the past few years, the BeadStyle editorial staff has made a great effort to include more source information for hard-to-find materials in the magazine articles. A few things still slip through the cracks ocassionally, but for the most part, we've made a lot of improvement.
If you want to know where we bought something, the best place to check is the "Supplies" box, where we lists sources in parentheses after unique items. For example, in our cover project from the March 2008 issue, the first item in the supply list is:
• 11 35–40 mm tagua slices, 1 black and 2 each in five colors (Acaibeads, 904.716.1061, acaibeads.com)
If we purchased multiple beads or components from the same business, we sometimes list source information at the very top of the supply list, like in "Something extra" from the May 2008 issue:
Supplies
Dichroic beads from Paula Radke Dichroic Glass, 805.772.5451, paularadke.com.
• 13 mm round dichroic bead
• 2 7 mm round dichroic beads . . .
In our older issues, we also included source information in "Editor's Tip" and "Supply Notes" boxes, so those are some other places you can check.
I know that you are busy people, and checking the supply lists and tip boxes might just save you the time and expense of a phone call. However, I'm always happy to help you find anything you saw in the magazine, so feel free to contact me at any time.
Happy beading!
