This past weekend in my neighborhood the Westside Artwalk took place. I displayed some of my tagua bead jewelry at Four Corners
of the World. The jewelry is made with beads similar to the tagua
sliced used in the necklace on the March cover of BeadStyle.
Four Corners of the World carries a variety of Fair Trade products. The weather was rainy, so the crowd at the Artwalk wasn't what we had hoped for. So like any jewelry lovin' fool does, when surrounded by beautiful baubles, I shopped. I bought a super-long necklace made with bone beads from Nepal. I intend to deconstruct it and reconstruct it into several smaller pieces. Barb, from Four Corners already put her order in for a pair of earrings. My other purchase was this lovely pair of horn hoop earrings. They come from Kenya. I couldn't resist their earthy colors, and because I bought them at Four Corners, I know that the artisans who made them were paid a fair wage for their labor. They are lightweight, and although this photo doesn't do them justice, they look like wavy glass.
