We found a bit of BeadStyle in Sedona, Plus, show your stuff and help the Bead Museum DC!

Jill Erickson of Art Jewelry was visiting artist Sherry Bell in Sedona, Ariz., — and look what she found in her studio — the BeadStyle gemstone poster that we included in the July 2007 issue. Yay, Sherry — we love to see it being put to good use. Check out Sherry's Web site to get a look at her work.

Want to share some of your own work? We know our readers are incredibly talented - here's a chance to share your talent with the world - and help a great cause.

The Bead Society of Greater Washington in conjunction with the Bead Museum DC is launching their first International Juried Jewelry Design Competition, “Celebrating Beads, the journey of…”.

The society is launching the contest in part as a fund-raiser for the Bead Museum and is asking bead artists to help preserve the history of their medium.

The contest has 12 categories: clay, fiber/textile, gemstones, glass, lampwork/dichroic (handmade), manmade materials (inorganic), metal, mixed media, organic materials, seed beads, Swarovski crystal, and trade/ethnic beads.

There are three levels at which participants can enter: professional, hobbyist, and student.  The contest deadline is July 25th, 2008 for postmarked
entries, and August 8th, 2008 for emailed entries (by midnight EST).

For more information, visit the contest Web site.
