Beading bloopers inspire "Quick Fixes"

I was going to blog about the many things I saw in Tucson last week (I will eventually), but I had to add to Lindsay's "Beading Bloopers" blog from last week.

I've also dumped graduated beads into our carnivorous carpeting, and made mistakes in pattern, among other things. My blooper-expertise came in handy when we put together the "10 Quick Fixes" booklet for a recent newsstand promotion. Subscribers will get their own version — on video — as soon as we get into the studio, but here's a preview:

When I see a mistake in a pattern, I try and repeat it on the other side of the necklace so it just looks like an interesting part of the design. If I find it in the lower left of the neckace, I repeat it on the upper right. If you catch it soon enough, it can cut down or eliminate re-stringing.

Until next time, check out this taste of Tucson. The picture is me standing next to a coyote sculpture (my idea of nature!) at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum near Tucson.
