Wedding jewelry

Tis the season. No, not Christmas. — all of a sudden it's wedding season. My friend, Linda Augsburg, editor of Make it Mine, is currently making the wedding jewelry for a friend's son's wedding. I'm in the planning stages for making the jewelry for my friend Becca's wedding in May. Linda's creations will be created with glass pearls. Don't know about mine yet - the dresses are lavender. I'm thinking delicate with a touch of amethyst. Tonight, LInda and I saw a sneak preview of "27 Dresses." More weddings, but a surprising lack of jewelry. Sure there was that spiked dog collar from the goth wedding, but aside from that I got no inspiration for my wedding creations. I did get some inspiration from from a book that recently hit my desk — "DIY Bride: 40 Fun Projects for Your Ultimate One-of-a-Kind Wedding." (Taunton Press $19.95 ) My favorite project is a tiara made from vintage necklaces. The one in the book is made from jewelry that belonged to the bride's grandmothers. If you're a beginner and the tiara seems a bit much, there's a simple but lovely pair of drop earrings that you can make even if you've ever seen a pair of chainnose pliers. Now that I've shared my wedding jewelry tip of the day, does anybody have ay ideas for Becca's jewelry?

I did a wedding with lavender...used lavender glass pearls, pale yellow seed pearls, and gold filled beads - 3 strands coming out of gf cones, with the pearls & gf rounds randomly on the strands.  I twisted the strands, too.  The bride loved it.  The bridesmaids had single strands.

That sounds beautiful. I love the lavender & pale yellow combo. I'd been toying with the idea of peridot green accents with lavender. I'll have to bounce both off of the bride.
