image transfers make a great gift

I’m happy to report that I was able to finish my jewelry making before exchanging gifts with my mom and sisters. We got together Tuesday at 3:00…I finished at 1:10. Whew. This past summer I took a photo transfer class at the Bead & Button Show. It was taught by my gal pal, Jill Erickson. The process was surprisingly easy, and fun to learn. From old photos of my mom, grandma, and grandpa, I made photocopies, and then transferred the images onto polymer clay and made pendants. I incorporated the pendants into necklaces then attached charms and trinkets suitable for each of my subjects. Jill is an Associate Editor at Art Jewelry magazine and a marvelous instructor. She will be teaching a three-day class this year at the Bead&Button Show. The class is called Fundamentals in Polymer Clay. It will be held Sunday, June 1st – Tuesday, June 3rd, from 9:30-6:00. If you are interested in a comprehensive polymer clay class, by all means look into Jill’s class.
