Swag

This past weekend I made swag. You may know that swag refers to merchandise that is used in marketing. The swag, or loot, usually has a company’s name or logo and is given away at trade shows or indie craft fairs. I am participating in Art vs Craft next weekend, and as part of this event, the first 200 attendees will receive swag. Make It Mine is giving away 200 magazines. My contribution is key chains with an attached wooden bead and a fancy-cardstock-tag stamped with a key. I thought key chains would be inexpensive and quick to make. And 10 or 20 key chains would have been inexpensive and quick to make…but 200. Wow what an ordeal. My fingers were sore. My questions for you are: Have you ever received or donated swag? What’s the best swag or free promotional material you have received? Or, if you decided to donate swag, what would you make?

At BABE (the Bay Area Bead Extravaganza) the early birds received a bag of 5 or so assorted lampwork beads from Unicorne Beads.  I especially loved the ones that looked like conch shells.  It drove me to their booth to buy more.
