I've been thinking about jewelry trends lately. We want to make sure the pages of BeadStyle are keeping up with (but not ruled by) the latest in fashion. It's becoming a lot like predicting the weather. The picture changes depending on which direction I'm looking. The high-end stores in NYC seemed full of multiple strands of strung briolettes this summer.
The young people in Paris were festooned long strands of chunky beads. In a small boutique tucked in the shadow of a medieval French castle, a designed was dping spectacular things with dichroic glass that I had never seen before. I'm seeing more and more recycled and found objects used by jewelry designers.
What are you making? Is it different than what you're buying? For those of you who sell your jewelry - what are your customers clamoring for?
