Today is the one-week anniversary of my first henna tattoo, and I’m just beginning to see some fading. It’s making me sad because I like the look of it much more than I thought I would.
Hazel Wheaton, editor of Art Jewelry magazine, and Linda Augsburg, editor of the much anticipated Make it Mine magazine, got henna tattoos at the same time and as we watch them fade, we’ve all toyed with the idea of changing them to the permanent variety. At this point, I’m not ready to commit.
But inspired by a really cool wire work project from our upcoming November issue, I may have found an alternative.
Louise Jeremich created a beautiful coiled collar and I want to use similar techniques to create a cuff in the pattern of my tattoo. It’ll take more work than a permanent tattoo, but less commitment.
I’ll show you what it looks like when I’m done.
