The new man in my life

I'm surrounded by men. My household had consisted of my husband and our Siamese cat, Seamus. Last week, we brought another male into our lives, Potter, a 12-week-old Siamese kitten.

Like all new kitty parents, we were anxious to provide Potter with all the toys a kitten could desire. His room is filled with mice, balls, stuffed animals, and a cat dancer. Potter enjoys his toys, but none of them captured his interest quite as much as my friend Liz's jade necklace, which she obligingly allowed him to play with (under close supervision, of course). So, not only is Potter fun and affectionate, but he also has great taste. What more could a girl ask for?

I do have to laugh at my cats too.  They are very much like Potter.  One of my cats, Nala, always plays with only my best beads.  She seems to know the difference between Aust. crystals and Swarovski crystals.

I'm glad to hear my cat isn't the only one with good taste!

Thank you for the comments, sspude4 and Kathie! Potter loves jewelry. I'm learning to tuck my necklaces in before I play with him, but he likes rings and earrings, too. It's nice to have another jewelry-lover in the house.

About Lindsay Haedt

I joined BeadStyle magazine in June 2005. At that time, I had never worked with beads before, but that changed very quickly. Now, my favorite afternoons at work are the ones I spend working on projects. It always amazes me how relaxing (and fun!) it is to make jewelry. In addition to working on articles, I also handle the administrative work and the BeadStyle forum.
