I received a lovely gift this week from a young woman I me at this year's Bead& Button Show. Jenna and her mom came to the bead show as part of the Make a Wish program. We met for dinner on her first day in Milwaukee and I saw her at least one a day for almost every day of the show. She and her mom had a schedule of classes that would have put a lesser woman (me, for instance) down for the count.
Jenna sent me a bead mat embroidered with the very apt motto "carpe beadem." And though it's also embroidered with my name, I'm sure it's her name I'll think of whenever I of whenever I use it.
It occurred to me as I was showing the mat off to my staff, that it is the people to whom we owe the most gratitude who usually take the time to say thank you. So I'll take this opportunity to offer a few thanks of my own.
Thanks, Jenna for:
Letting me see the bead show through energetic young eyes
Letting me be there when you tasted your first creme brulee
Making us your wish. My wish is that you come back every year.
