The Craft & Hobby Association had its annual conference in Chicago last weekend. There aren't many bead-related exhibitors there, (beaders have their own shows) but there were some and it's always interesting to see what's up-and-coming in all the craft areas. I met a woman who invented a new bead board — it was very cool. Her booth was also promoting kits to make faux dichroic glass.
What really blew me away was the Blue Moon Beads upcoming "Lost & Found" line. It included vintage-y charms and cameos, some velveteen beads and a host of other treasures. If I could, I would have bought the whole display. Thank goodness (for my budget) it wasn't a retail show. Those who like Brenda Schweder's new Junk to Jewelry book, but aren't having much luck finding "found" objects will be thrilled.
